This week will see Garrett get another four years. They'll also extend Linehan to keep the offensive cohesiveness together. Callahan might go elsewhere which means they'll need to find an O-line coach. Reports are saying Marinelli might head to TB but if he does it won't be because Jerry didn't try to keep him.

At some point we'll see Dez get something, either the franchise tag or long term (anywhere from 5-7 years) contract. Nothing would surprise me when it comes to the deal, but look for Dallas to try and protect themselves a little. Maybe make some of his pay roster bonuses like they initially did with TO when he came to town. Murrey could get a decent contract but they'll keep in mind the fact that his first three years in the league he was almost constantly hurt. Look for short term (3-4 years) with protections built in in case he gets hurt or goes on IR.

Look for them to try and get Carr to take a paycut. Don't know what they'll try and do with Claiborne. I think they try and keep McClain and hand a modest contract to Carter. Then again, he played well enough down the stretch that some team might overpay for him. LB Corps of Lee, McClain, Hitchens, all of them here for 3-4 years would be pretty awesome. Melton is gone, he disappeared after a strong start. I think they try and keep Spencer, but again, some team might overpay for him. Dallas has done fairly well the last couple of years in trying to manage their money better so they probably have a dollar figure for a lot of these guys that they would be willing to spend on them before walking away.

Draft has to include defensive line, including a big guy in the middle, and a CB. If they do decide to let Murrey walk this is probably the draft to do it. With Dunbar and Randle they could work a pretty good 1-2 punch and they'll have options for RB in 2nd and 3rd round.

Overall, when it comes down to it, this was a team that 95% of all pundits predicted to go 6-10 or worse. If they can get better on defense, we're looking at probably a good 3-4 year run of being competitive. Caveats: Romo has to stay healthy and if they don't draft a QB this year then they have to do it next. If Romo goes down and they don't have a decent option behind him, the wheels are going to fall off fast.

Four more years! Of mediocrity... Garrett has wasted Tony Romo's career and Jerry is to blame.

No, Wade and Jerry did that. Garrett did what he could with what he had, which was good enough for a play-in game at the end of the season three years running. 2009 was the last good defensive year. Since then it's been mediocre to bad. And it's pretty much been defensively that Dallas has faltered for the most part.

Rex is officially the HC of the Bills. I'm surprised they're the first, usually by now about half the vacancies are filled.

I'd call 5 years of shit during Romo's prime a good chunk of wasted talent. It's a head coaches job to develop the entire team, it's also his fault the defense is garbage. You're not an offensive coordinator anymore.

Again, he did what he could with what he had. Should note that in 2012 and 2013 he had shit on defense, largely because of injuries. Hell, 2013 they had guys coming off their couch on Tuesday and then playing on Sunday. I'm not sure what any coach is supposed to do when things are that bad.

Any coach in the league does what they can do with what they have. He had shit on defense because him and his GM gave themselves shit on defense. Just like how they have shit on defense because they gave themselves shit on defense again. You can blame injuries, refs, etc. Doesn't change the fact that the Cowboys have looked like the Dolphins the past 5 years except they've wasted their franchise QB.

Yeah, the 49ers were down to practice squad players at LB, 3rd-4th string DL, 3-4th string CBs, and still managed to finish 5th in defense.

I was hoping by now someone would have quoted the rules on what constitutes a 'catch', and a 'football move'. I don't wanna have to look that shit up myself.

At least the officiating wasn't as shitty this week as last week (in the cowboy game). Sure they weren't calling holding, but at least they were consistent about it. Only 2 or 3 questionable calls, that's about par for any NFL game.

The NFLs Rules Are Dumb

Why do the rules even need to be quoted, it was blatantly obvious to anyone who actually watches football that it wasn't a catch when it happened. Dez knew it wasn't a catch, for fucks sake Mike Mcarthy even knew it wasn't a catch and that guy's a god damn moron when it comes to challenges.

No, you stupid asshole it wasn't. Just like the CJ incident was by logic, eyeball test, and pure stable thought process - a catch.

The ONLY reason they aren't catches is due to the rule book, which clearly trumps the eyeball.

Dont say they werent "catches" though unless you're using the rule to back you up.

jesus christ just like the Raiders @ Patriots tuck rule incident was CLEARLY a fumble - but by the rule book it was an incomplete pass.

doesn't mean you can shit on people who believe in what they literally see happen

This is the drawback of replay challenges really. But who gives a fuck, Rodgers was going down the field to win the game either way.

More likely Mcarthy just thought "shit that was a big play, i think i have one of those red things left burning a hole in my pocket... better use that shit and hope for the best!"

So let me get this straight, it wasn't obvious to people who watch football, only people who watched football, and it wasn't a catch because it wasn't a catch.

I know you're a huge loser who constantly talks about getting stoned, but are you high right now?

Most likely, but we were robbed of getting to watch it.

I don't know, I felt pretty good after that outcome. Karmic justice being wrought out in real-time is always satisfying.

Dallas gonna be 8-8 again. Not a chance they are going to be able to sign the same peeps, and D is going to be worse. Romo is going to have to be magical to get past the eagles the next year. Draft well cowboys, draft well.
