just announced for this upcoming season

24 game balls (not sure if each team gets 24 or 24 total) all get Tested and their PSI recorded prior to game- a NFL security guy is to be with the balls the entire process from start to end of game- balls get numbered 1-24

1-12 go into the game at start. at HALFTIME, the first 12 balls get retested for their PSI..then retired
then balls #13-24 go into the game for 2nd half.

after the game - randomly selected games will get all their balls retested and the psi sent into NFL offices to "take a look at"
so they admit they fucked up. yet here we are

So you're willing to lay blame on the NFL for the action they just took concerning a controversy but won't give your Golden Boy shit for not cooperating and making it a bigger controversy in the first place?

how did he not cooperate? He didnt allow his private employer to violate US labor law in asking for his private non-company cellphone. Oh right after he did 7-8 hours of interviews over multiple days.

note after a precedent was set by the NFL offices of fining an employee (Brett Favre) $50,000 for not doing literally the same thing.

So they have money to do all of that, but not add a couple of fucking cameras?

also what the fuck? How about ESPN (Chris Mortenson) for reporting ELEVEN out of twelve were TWO psi under, and the NFL not refuting it? In fact they still haven't refuted it. Youre trying to blame Brady for making this a big deal? Are you out of your head?

Favre showing dicpix is not the same as potentially colluding with employees to give his team a competitive edge. Where's a_skeleton_03 with the Hoculi meme?

If he had just handed over his phone, things probably would have blown over. The only way it wouldn't have blown over is if his phone had evidence suggesting he played a part. But we'll never know.

Not that I want to defend a cheater, but this is profoundly faulty logic. The idea of 'if you arent guilty you have nothing to hide' leads us to all sorts of bad places.

As has been stated a million times, this wasn't a criminal case so innocent until proven guilty does not apply.

Plus the court of public opinion never gives a shit. If Tom had cooperated then 31 out of 32 team fandoms wouldn't be going, "What's he hiding?" and throwing asterisks on this last Super Bowl. That is, unless he was hiding something. We'll never know.

meaningless. not sure who you're even directing this post toward.

Here's the thing, you can't just throw an asterisk on anything. They won, sorry your ass hurts. Not to mention the court of public opinion was swayed when Chris Mortenson reported 11/12 were 2 PSI under and the NFL let that marinate versus refuting it.

Grantland released their list of Top 100 NFL Players, and it is god fucking awful. It does not deserve a link. That, along with their pop culture articles, are embarrassing.

Of course people can. That's the beauty of the court of public opinion. Does it matter that Barry Bonds wasn't 'roided up when he broke the HR record? No. Of course not. He did at some point in his career though, and so people asterisk the shit out of his record. Literally.

I get it. You want to defend your boy. I'd do the same with Romo. But dude has done nothing to dissuade the idea that he cheated other than wink and nod and say, "I didn't cheat, trust me." That's more than enough for some people to start throwing the asterisk around.

And here I thought the asterisk thing was just to troll Patriots fans. But apparently some of you are actually legitimately upset about it? Wow...

Upset, no. Repeatedly getting caught cheating definitely tarnishes their accomplishments, hence the asterisk.
