think 0 chance of a disney retcon, unless the show outlast Kennedy. series is going to end with mando/grogu getting killed by palpatine or snoke

If in the next episode a de-aged Mark Hamill pops in to help rescue Grogu and mentions Princess Leia's unfortunate death it'd be the greatest thing to happen to the Star Wars franchise since the lightsaber.

Nipple-tape dude!

They don't really need to retcon them to be honest as much as mostly just ignore them. They happen 30 years after RotJ, so just ignore that time period which is what they seem to be doing with shows set around the original trilogy like the Mandalorian, Ashoka and the Rangers show. Obi-wan and Bad Batch being somewhere after the prequels and before the original. The High Republic stuff which is 100-300 years before the original trilogy.

As I said no official retcon, just ignore that timeline and the events that occurred.

Boba and Luke meeting up again would be hilarious.

If they got rid of Kennedy and retconned ep 7, 8 and 9, Disney would have pulled off the most stunning move in the history of film. They would win over so many more fans and would gain A TON of respect. No one would even be mad about it, besides the people involved in making them. Fans would accept it as a mulligan and move on. That would be too incredible honestly, and it will never happen given how baked in all of the new heroes are.

Admitting your own unforced fuckups and simply erasing them is not stunning.

EDIT: let me clarify. Without context, that's the bare minimum that should be expected. It won't happen, so I guess you can say it's stunning. I was more lamenting that much more should be expected of them.

If Carrie Fisher didn't die there'd be a small chance. But she dedd. That was a wrap on the franchise. The best bet is filling content inbetween all the shitty sagas a la Clone Wars series and Mandalorian.

Hopefully they keep reaching into the massive pit of EU content and pulling out the good stuff for repurposing.

Mando takes place around 25 years before the new trilogy. That is a ton of time you can exploit for story telling purposes. For context, that is more time than what exists between the end of the prequel trilogy and the start of A New Hope.

They aren't going to erase the new trilogy. At best, they'll lay some groundwork to explain certain plotholes or poorly developed aspects of the new trilogy to iron out some wrinkles, but for the most part they'll probably just do their own thing and involve as much pre-New Trilogy content as possible.

^^^ Sloppy writing. Why would Billy Fuckface or The Viper be active in any Imperial system? We're not checking for _authorized_ faces, just _a_ face.

More sloppy writing. Let's taunt Moff Gideon. If the location of your ship is guarded, precaution would be change that location when they tip their hand. Hurr durr, I use the words you used earlier. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

I don't think Bill Burr is a bad actor. At least, I haven't seen any evidence of such. But this role isn't proof that he's good either. He's playing himself.

Does Gina Carano have any emotes besides concerned and smirk? Do your job, director.

You guys need to hold this series to a higher standard. It's a CW show with more money.

No, its an adventure serial with more money. Which is LITERALLY what Star Wars was, and is was always meant to be. Which is why people love it.

The CW comment was more to pick a "brand" known for shitty writing, not a direct comparison of similar show types.

i think Valderen has it right. they just pretend it didnt happen and do other things.
Just pull a Star Trek and multiverse branch off into Timothy Zahn version and unretcon in all the EU stuff that kept fandom alive from 1983-1999. The Zahn books in particular would make for epic movies.

Despite FTL travel and a universe full of aliens and diversity, why does Star Wars always take place on dusty planet. Wet planet. Frozen planet and orgy planet.
With 420 movies and 18,000 series they still only mention and go to the same half dozen planets basically.

I was thinking about this yesterday while reading a NASA article.
NASA helped a company build a state of the art filter system like you buy in Walmart.
On the outside it looked like any circular hepa filter but it was created using aero software they use on planes/rockets to increase inflow and outflow. Sort of like how Dyson engineers their shit.
The result was plastic louvered intakes like any other but the spacing, angle of entry and other minor things were perfected based on modeling and it was like 20% more efficient than most. Also more powerful while more quiet as far as air turbulence is concerned.
Once they determined all the perfect aspects, it really is just molded plastic, but molded to those high end engineered specs.
The results is looking at it, you wouldn't think it any better than any other, but it isn't in some form of space age fusion system. It's just perfected like you can't see.

Maybe those bowls are optimized for their heads somehow.
