While I love the countless memes from it, I found Fury Road itself to be really god damn boring. That's one of only a few movies I walked out of the theater while watching.

gonna pay Chris for using one of his posts? only fair now he cant use it

2 got a lot of hate and deservedly so in parts, but his ass-kicking of the agents in the beginning, the fight with the Oracle's bodyguard, and the fight with the Merovingian's dudes as well as some of the car chases got me to see it twice in the theater. I left the second time during the stupid ass rave scene to renew my high in the car, worked out perfectly.

"Yay! I have tickets to the likely-lame Matrix reboot and the 6th Spiderman movie in too few years to care, but do you know what movie really sucks? The only action movie besides John Wick in the last decade to be worth a shit on nearly every level possible for a film."

It is completely obvious now what kind of braindead film goer pushes Captain Marvel into the billion dollar range.

the ones that wanted to see Endgame and were duped into thinking CM had anything to do with it? Disney Marvel pulled off a massive bait and switch on the public with that film. they also fudged their numbers in the box office to push that film as a success. if no endgame and no box office fuckery. that movie would have made 400-500 million, tops.

and Fury Road only had slow parts because if it was any more adrenline and badassery, people would have dropped dead faster than a pandemic shot.

Truth. I am not sure if it was WOMAN POWA or this schtick of Mad Max being the silent hero everyman you are supposed to project yourself on. I remember reading some shit about how Max was portrayed to be this mostly fictitious character that is the hero in all the legends of the wastelands so he was made a lesser character. Or something.

But you get a perfect actor to replace Gibson in the role and turn him into a side character in his own movie. Complete bullshit.

Still liked the movie, wasn't the best one, The Road Warrior will always be king, but Fury Road was okay.

Edit - To go back on point - The Matrix was a perfect movie for it's time, the other two were shit, and this new movie will be worse than 2 and 3 combined, mark it.

Not true. Captain Marvel wasn't good at all. Sure, I was like "Ohh, Blockbuster", but that's all I thought when watching that abortion of film.
And I don't know why. I haven't rewatched it, but I legit did not like fury road. I tried, and you guys said it was so amazing. But I was bored. And oddly, so was my dad. We did this weird father son night at the movie, and it was a time waste.

I guess my biggest complaint about the movie was they tried to make every scene into a Holy shit moment. It was an entire movie of "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" spliced with the Matrix elevator scene spliced with 300's kicking the guy down the endless well. Yes, each scene looks incredible as a stand alone, but endlessly spliced together with other "holy shit!" scenes, it's really overwhelming and took away from my experience. I stopped caring at all right around the fight with the spikey hedgehog vehicles.

if you just watched Fury Road for the Furiosa stuff, its really not great. its not bad, but its just ok. you put Immortan Joe and all the visuals in there, it reaches levels of badass not often seen in films. to be fair, Max didnt get much to do either. the original trilogy was all about Max and him dealing with his broken life. would the movie have been better if Mel Gibson starred and they continued that theme and have him find out his old nemesis from the first film had returned as an almost supernatural villain named Immortan Joe with all those visuals and this Furiosa chick play the part of exposition to catch everyone up? yes, that would have been worlds better. but what we got was still fucking sweet.

I figure it's been long enough. I bought an unopened 3D bluray on ebay for $14. I'll watch it as soon as it comes in. 3D bitches!
