He's clearly pissed. He's angry that people (apparently his Facebook friends) took that article "as gospel", so I read the article fully expecting it to be full of exaggerations, inaccuracies and outright lies. I could not find any. I asked if anyone could point out any inaccuracies and got the typical tidal wave of shitposts, none of which added anything at all to the discussion.

I'm not even defending Brianna Wu. From everything I've seen here, she appears to be a nutjob. But if Mao's jimmies are rustled because his friends don't dismiss a message outright because of the messenger (regardless of its merit), then the problem is with him and not with them. His jab at "believers" is completely unfounded and, dare I say, hypocritical in this case (since he's the one displaying "believer" behavior).

My favorite part, though, is when he says "trying to convince them otherwise just makes you one of the evil others, instead of causing them to fact check their shit. It really is the new religion" as though that's not exactly what I go through every single time I present facts that don't gel with the popular narratives here. Heck, the (apparently) popular belief is that I "deserve" the treatment I get, despite my only crime being presenting factual information that many don't like to hear and refuse to verify. The new religion, indeed.
