IIRC, if you connect to the IPT site via VPN you will eat a ban. You can run your Torrent client (uTorrent etc) through a VPN no problem, but if you are connecting to the IPT site itself, stay off VPN. It is against their rules. All of that said, I don't know anyone with any issues connecting directly.

there really isn't SHIT for 4k content. BTN/IPT have some of the top tier TV shows from Netflix/amazon, the sizes are insanely huge though - like I just downloaded Narcos in 4K, its 140 gigs each season. I'm watching each episode and just deleting it, its too big to keep around. I prefer to download even though i have netflix, prefer using my PC as a decoder instead of the TV netflix app which I don't know what the VBR is its streaming at.

I rarely find movies in 4K. For example John Wick 2 is out on 4k bluray in USA, I actually own the UHDs, but i am sorta too lazy to rip it so was hoping to find a download. Nope. Same with wonder woman and GOTG2, although I'm not sure its out in 4k in NA. IPT has a few 4k (search for 2160p in movies category, 99% of 2160p are porn torrents) but its mostly shitty movies I wouldn't watch again.

At this point I'm resigned to keeping my movie library in 1080p with the occasional purchase of a 4k bluray. I do have a PTP account but haven't delved deep into that site, don't know of any sites that specialize in 4K rips that are kept only on that site - anything popular would make its way to IPT quickly.

Even finding Planet Earth II is tough, there is only one 4k RIP of it and the default language is FUCKING RUSSIAN. Jesus Christ.

Default langauge is Russian, but you can easily change it to English, and change the subs too if you want them off, or in English. So yea, it's kinda annoying, a few seconds at the beginning of the episode and it's all fixed up.

yeah its no problem for me but i like to copy stuff for my dad who likes 4K on his shiny new LG OLED and there's no way he can figure out how to change audio language on his LG tv app, just getting to the point where he could play files off the attached 2TB usb drive was a triumph of science over age

i just gave him the 1080p rips and told him it was 4k :(

Lying to your Dad over 4k. Man, what has the world come too? :( But in your sitch I would have done the same thing, because it took a minute for me to even figure out that I could do that shit on the 4k rips.

Every post you make convinces me more and more that you have very little understanding of the technology you are using. Rather than streaming unaltered Netflix on your TV at 4k (and HDR) then you're downloading files that have been encoded/ripped and probably reduced in quality for file size reasons - just LOL

I torrent the shit out of stuff, but I actually make a point to watch things that I actually purchased legally (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.) on the platform it comes from if at all possible. I want to give my metrics to the right people (sorry Scream) so that the shows and movies I truly want to see more of have as much positive reinforcement as possible.

I also have a Shield so I'm fairly certain I'm getting proper decoding and such.

I would still rip everything myself because I don't have the bandwidth to push 4k streaming, I would need it to be local.

I was more addressing this comment prefer "using my PC as a decoder instead of the TV netflix app", because the PC app is nowhere near as fully featured as the TV app, I don't even think you can get dolby digital through the PC app
