Oddly enough I got an email from the company today telling me I made it to the next round of interviews. How do I go about telling them thanks but no thanks without burning that bridge?

Once the other offer is 100% for realises done, you sent a note saying "I'm sorry but I am no longer in the market for opportunities not involving 160 dollar backpacks. " and roll out.

Always keep in mind, they're interviewing other people. If they're not, then they're stupid and you don't want to work for them anyway.

Got an interview tomorrow at a casino for IT Manager. I already have a really good job as IT Director for a local hospital, but the call schedule is fucking stupid, and the benefits aren't great. I haven't prepped at all, so hopefully it wont be a complete disaster.

EDIT: I should note that my current position is actually an IT Manager, as we only have 1 IT department, so its not a step backwards. I wasnt going to point that out to HR though.

Just send them an email thanking them (and the team, if there's a "team" you were interviewing for) for their time and that you have accepted another offer. You can do what chaos said and just say you're no longer looking for new opportunities.

They probably won't care unless you were some super-human candidate for them.

Don't decline until you have signed the other offer in paper or docusign.

I'd go ahead and go to the second interview of the other one even if you already accepted the first job. If the second one turns out to be badass you can always back out of the other one and take the second one, even if the first guy was creepy.

Keep your options open.

Last day here for me. Was gonna leave after my exit interview but they asked if I wanted to do lunch. Might as well, pizza is pizza.

Apparently my benefits run out tonight at midnight and hopefully I can pick up my new ones monday so I only lapse on the weekend, but I think it will screw me on my MA taxes. We get penalized for any lapses.

I doubt that your health insurance runs out tonight, it usually runs out on the 1st of the month following your termination date.

Also, COBRA is retroactive so you won't technically have any lapses in the eyes of the law.

Yeah she mentioned something about COBRA being retroactive "if I choose to pay for it".

I dont know, I didn't even read the 9 million page packet she gave me
