I feel that, I'm against taxing to remove choice (Gas car tax, soda tax), sorry you have to deal with that. In my state, it'll cost me 500$ to register my 2 EVs for a year, on top of the ludicrous Property Tax for cars (probably 2500 total for both).

But I won't switch back to gas.

Fuck Microsoft. I know that everyone knows this already, but this is even more fucking stupid. And I just recently complained about even trying to log into a Microsoft account too.

Part of the rustle is just having to help people with computer shit, but let's ignore that. Let's also ignore the multiple "that account doesn't exist" errors that logging into a Microsoft account entails. That's enough for a rant right there.

Friend has a Microsoft 365 subscription (Excel, Word, etc.). His dad also has one that just expired. They realized they could just combine and use one instead of paying for both, since you get something like 5 or 6 total installs out of a subscription.

Long story short, no matter what I do, whether it be deleting credentials, modifying the registry, completely uninstalling Office 365, even reinstalling fucking Windows itself, the minute the dad accepts the invite to join his son's subscription and signs in with his Microsoft account, it pops up and says that his (old) subscription has expired and he needs to re-up. It will not validate his install with the son's subscription, it just says his shit is expired. It will not allow me to get rid of the expired subscription no matter what I try. I did everything the internet suggested except just making him an entirely new Microsoft account, because apparently he has other shit tied to the existing one (no idea what), and you can't have two different accounts operating at the same time on the same computer. Once you sign in as one, it flips ALL of your Microsoft logins to that one.

Perhaps it is due to the subscription expiring less than a month ago and we just have to wait, but I kind of doubt it. I told them they can deal with Microsoft customer support and try to get it fixed, I'll fucking explode if I talk to them.

I almost just used the MAS activation script, but that would likely backfire on me at some point and I don't want to deal with explaining to them what that is all about.

Fucking Microsoft. I'd press a button to kill them all, right now.

For me I think 90% of the reason I can't switch back is transmissions. I have one of my law partners GLE63 AMG in my driveway as he is out of the country, and I drove it a few times. It's fast, very cool interior, great build quality. But the transmission is so jerky its insane... want to squirt by someone? Give it 3/4 throttle and it jerks the whole car downshifting then jerks the car again when it finds boost and surges forward. Like least elegant thing ever. In my M3P I'd silently be 1/4 mile ahead of them at 1/3rd throttle and never felt more than the 0.2g acceleration forward.

The smooth as glass instantly available torque is like fucking crack, and no gas car replaces it.

Yep! The insta acceleration has saved me HOURS of time stuck at red lights. I know the timings for the work commute, and can get to the speed limit in 1 second. The rest of the cars are way behind me, and get stuck at the next light, and it's a good 6 minutes if there's a pedestrian. Do that twice a day, 5 days a week, those 6 minutes add up

I'm not an EV evangelist douche though. They work for me, I live in a climate that is kind to them (ie not super cold). Yet I still love riding in well designed ICE cars. My neighbor has like 4 corvettes, so much fun.
