Not only does Blizz do it worse, they allow and encourage cheating, botting, and RMT because it means more subs for them. Private servers - despite bugs and server jank - are better.

I'll deal with 10 restarts a day over a server filled with boosting.

Boosting really destroyed modern MMOs. Everything is for sale.

There was boosting around 2010ish but not on the scale or common man affordability it is now. Or maybe gamers grew up and now have more disposable income, causing a major growth of the industry in India/Malaysia/China.

Even in Pantheon, a piece of shit EA scam with no players-- boosting dominated the game.

Every guild boosted, and had bots running their accounts. It's an open secret that actually playing the game yourself is for suckers.

Its all too tiresome, and a reason I won't be playing whatever Classic+ Blizzard comes up with.

Fuck modern MMO's that dont put safeguards in against boosting.

Holly is a higher up at Blizzard now.

Oh fucking hell... You know that actually could carry some weight...

Nostalrius shut down in 2016...

P99 was a popular Everquest server that got the official okay to live in 2015 when Holly was actively working at Daybreak...

Holly hires into Blizzard right after Classic WoW launches in 2019.

Shit starts with The Heroes Journey, Holly see's this happening to Everquest see's how popular Turtle WoW is and this puts everything into motion.

It all makes sense now...

The lawsuit literally asks for ISP-level blocks.
which I don't is going to work, what might actually work though, is the lawsuit also is going after vendors who provide payment processing/hosting/web services etc to halt those services. And as we learned during dark biden it's apparently easy as fuck to debank people and Visa/Mastercard will just straight up volunteer to deplatform entities.

Probably going to be hard to kick them off of paypal. They do the usual thing where you don't pay for anything directly. You just donate them money and you get tokens you can use on whatever. Other than paypal they just take a variety of crypto.

"Blizzard can't do shit about it. They had to lie to the Nostalrius devs and get them to shut down their own server in time for classic WoW in 2019."

Looks like Turtle is gonna FIGHT

If you have to go through vpns and use crypto that is going to kill most of their user base. The majority of people aren't tech savvy enough to get into all of that. Sad as it is, millennials and gen z/a are as bad or worse than boomers when it comes to tech fluency. Anything more complicated than putting an app on your phone is beyond them.

Turtle WoW social media guy, the one who was in Michigan, named in the lawsuit, put TWOW Social Media Manager on his LinkedIn profile.

I love TWoW but seriously what fucking retard thought it was a good idea to legit start essentially printing out flyers for the server while also pinging Blizzard on Twitter.

Like at that point it's literally just FAFO.

Since the lawsuit I haven't even logged in it just feels like it might be a waste of time. Which sucks because I really enjoyed my hunter on Ambershire.

honestly i just dont believe them ever releasing the UE5 client. imo it's a fraud...

they've simply loaded wow assets in UE5 and dropped in some default cams/controls. none of their videos (year+ since announcement) have gameplay footage.

the screenshots they show with no UI elements look completely different than ones with UI elements and they conveniently say the screenshots showing UI is the UE5 client running in "legacy mode" lol... that screenshot above is the only thing to ever show a debug window and that shit looks like a wow screenshot pasted over a very empty looking UE5 project.

fraud, and the blizz trial will prove it.

The blizzard trial won't prove that because the Russian won't show up in court.

Day looks a bit odd. Shadows look like a very overcast day. Kinda feels like the built in global illumination stuff is off. They might have had trouble with the inside of tents being too dark with it on.

Night light sources look a bit glitchy. The orbs are cool point sources, but don't light when in the caster's hands so you get a brief flash of tasty cubemappy pointy shadow, and then nothing floatiness. Looked like the little torches didn't cast player shadows as well. Maybe they are limited to 1 and it takes the closest?

Doing lots of point sourced shadowmaps is a tricksy problem, but one I'd have expected unreal to have solved 10 years ago.
