I mean I just really can't get upset about the film. I haven't seen it, don't have a daughter to take to see it, obviously not going to take my son and my wife shrugged about it. I saw Oppenheimer with friends instead on a gigantor IMAX screen, but expecting a movie made to make little girls feel empowered is going to have feminist themes, not to mention its Greta Gerwig so you know what you are getting into.

Also I am sick of the YouTube reactionaries, Drinker isn't TOO bad but most of them have nothing to say other then x product sucks in 500 different ways. Give me in-depth discussion RLM style about how Independence Day Resurgence was a schlocky mess.

Critical drinker makes his living on shitting on media. Yeah, sure he likes some stuff, but that's the schtick so of course he's going to go with the best take for his audience.

That dance fight video reminds me of some Zoolander shit and makes me more interested in the movie, not less.

yeah, i got tired of critical drinker after about 3 videos. i don't particularly find anything he says inciteful because it's all framed from the viewpoint of someone who hates... well... everything. he looks for things to fail so he can kick a dog while it's down. maybe it's just that the whole crowd he runs with are all basically echo chambers. it's one thing to review a movie and be like, i didn't like it because of this, this and that, and then to move on to the next topic, but they all spend HOURS making content all focused on how much they hate this one specific thing. it's beating a dead horse on overdrive.

Funny enough, Drinker recently did an interview with Russell Brand and he even mentioned that sometimes he expects something to be complete shit and it turns out he was wrong (think the example was maybe something Marvel?).

House of the Dragon. At least that had a chance to be something he'd enjoy, he is just trying to pay the rent when he reviews something like Barbie.

all professional movie critics are trying to pay the bills. what an odd thing to say. people dont watch his channel because he just hates everything. thats ignorant. he fleshes out his opinions and pinpoints the issues he had with the films. if he likes it, he tells you why. if he hates it, he also tells you why. just because he didnt like this cuckporn film doest mean he doesnt know what he's saying.

Nah, hate to use the RLM example again but they stopped going to shit they know they dont care about or hate such as super hero movies outside of James Gunn or Sam Raimi. Hell I'd rather them review every Star Trek episode in order starting in TOS then them tell me why they hate a Barbie movie that isn't aimed at them, and they have no interest in seeing outside of farming hate clicks.

Disney and associated franchises are both easy and deserved targets for the anti woke pundits

It's called a culture war for a reason and it gets clicks/views. Again these are deserved targets and I'm not saying they're grifting. Disney franchises dominate so the quantity of output makes sense

He has positively reviewed movies in 9 of his last 20 videos. So... yeah, you're not a fan of his, but he definitely isn't just bashing on shitty movies. If his POV doesn't match yours, that's fine. He may very well do an Oppenheimer review this week. Anyhow, find a critic who is on your wavelength or don't. I enjoy Critical Drinker and Heelvsbabyface.
