Make sure the Radiologist you ask doesn’t own or read imagines off the open MRI scanner you’ve been using, lol
Nah actually after seeing your post I did some looking on the internet and saw immediately you were correct. I'm just not sure it matters for me. They are doing comparison scans to make sure nothing came back. I've had 2 years of clean scans , open and closed MRI and perhaps the 'not as precise' part will not matter. Being in the closed MRI causes me intense physical pain that takes days to go away. Like my hands/arms go numb.

I've been a number of MRIs and only one place that I know of has an open MRI and it wasn't a place I went to. I figure there is a huge upsell to them for people that won't fit into a normal one or claustrophobic.

It's also the only place I've seen that advertises they do MRIs and have an open MRI. I figure if you go to a regular one and a doctor says you won't fit the open MRI place can charge you or your insurance more.

I doubt they get to charge more, actually if they’re independently owned they probably charge a small fraction of what you’d get charged at a hospital based scanner. Hospital based outpatient care is probably the biggest healthcare scam of the 21st century*.

The main draw is claustrophobia/patient preference. Most doctors (especially pretend docs like NPs) don’t realize those things are pretty useless so $$ marketshare.

Well.. wide bore 3T MRI machine (not OpenMRI) and no problems at all getting it done. Of course , it could have been due to my new best friend Alprazolam.

And now I have a picture of the asshole of the week...

25mm x 26mm

Also. upon further review of yesterday's MRI and the previous imaging I see something which pisses me off. First pisses me off with myself for not noticing before, but FAR MORE pisses me off at the radiologist and urologists whose JOB is it to notice. But apparently back over on my right kidney, where I had the previous mass cryoablated, there is ALSO a SECONDARY 1cm mass which nobody has said jack shit about yet.

I swear if that ends up being a third mass that I have to do ANOTHER procedure for they're going to experience the full brunt of "bad customer service Haus".

update: well, I think my healthcare provider has basically just given up and officially declared me as having AFIB for no particular reason

Did the Keto diet fr just over two weeks, and it actually increased the amount of episodes I had. So sugar isnt the problem.
Edit: to clarify, I was having episodes nearly every other day while on Keto, and I’ve only had them twice since going off.

got my electrolyte levels checked, after supplementing for a week and here were the results, April results are from when I was in the ER with actively occurring AFIB:

I'm puzzled that Chloride and Magnesium levels stayed static, despite supplementing Magnesium Citrate and Potassium Chloride

April-August Comparisons.png

also more recently, ive had extreme light headedness during some episodes, a coworker thought that sounded like iron deficiency to him, so i also had Iron levels checked with my electrolyte panel in august, along with vitamin D, and got this result:

Iron August.png

it should be noted for iron levels, the day before i took this test, I ate three 1/4 beef patties in the late afternoon as part of my keto diet so im not sure why iron levels were low
Vitamin D August.png

what i find concerning is that all my lab results review came back as "Labs fine" for every stat, including low iron level. health team said iron saturation was more important than iron level stat, but thats only two points above low normal range.

going to start supplementing iron and vitamin D tomorrow and see if symptoms improve.

Weight got down to 222 on keto, and went back up to 224 after going off (i'm assuming fluid retention) going to do another three week keto run starting this monday

ill update if anything out of ordinary happens

Looks to me that you're slightly diluted rather than difficent. Drop a few kg fluid - and 20kg bodyweight, get below 90kg. It's easy to check via echo (ultrasound) for any EM/card. Diuretics / fluid restriction plan after that. When you're at dry weight it's easier to dabble in whether you'd be eligible for DC or RFA. In short, fluid overload strains the heart and makes it more prone to afib in parox afib. I can't tell if you're in perm afib bc of structural vulnerability or hemodynamics. Less drinking soda, less supplements, do wegovy. Keto takes far to long to work imho. My 0.10.
