Researchers found young women who smoke the drug could be triggering severe fertility issues — like cutting the number of eggs they carry by half.

University of California-Irvine researchers gave female mice the drug tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC — the chemical found in cannabis — and found it negatively affects healthy ovarian follicles.

When the mice who were given THC reached their adolescent age, researchers found they had 50 percent fewer healthy ovarian follicles than the control group (also at their adult age).

In 2021, data collected on marijuana usage in young adults entirely and marijuana usage on a daily showed sky-rocketing numbers since the trend was first monitored in 1988, according to National Institute on Drug abuse.

There was a major jump in young adults who used recreational weed in 2021, which was 43%, compared to young adults who used it in 2016 and 2011.

An 11 percent increase of young adults using weed daily in 2021 was reported in comparison to 8% in 2016 and 6% in 2011.

A team of researchers discovered 2,000 mummified ram heads inside a temple in one of ancient Egypt’s oldest and most sacred cities, officials said. Alongside the ram remains, the team found mummified goats, dogs, cows, deer and a single ostrich, officials said.

These were likely offerings left to honor Ramses II, who was buried in the storied ancient city of Abydos, after an influential reign spanning 67 years from 1279-1213 B.C.E.

But this elaborate gift wasn’t given until 1,000 years after Ramses II’s death, suggesting that the pharaoh’s life and deeds were remembered long after his time, team lead Sameh Iskandar said.

Ramses II was thrust into conflict at a young age, taking the throne at age 14 as Egypt battled the Hittites, according to the Smithsonian. It was the first of many military victories that would be laid at the pharaoh’s feet, and while it’s not clear how much of his legend is truth or embellishment, there’s little question he ruled during a period of wealth, growth, and a great deal of construction.

Researchers in also uncovered a massive building at the site “with a distinctive and unique architectural design” and walls measuring roughly 15 feet thick, the release said.

The structure, which is from Egypt’s sixth dynasty and predates Ramses II’s rule, could change the way experts think about the city of Abydos and how it might have been prior to the construction of the temple of Ramses II.

He's amazingly lucky that this guy was there to notice his board in time.
A snowboarder trapped upside down in a tree well has a quick-thinking skier to thank for his rescue. Francis Zuber’s video starts with him getting caught up in some deep powder. He makes his way out and gets back on his way when he suddenly stops after noticing a snowboard barely sticking up out of the snow.

“You alright?” he could be heard asking.

Receiving no response, he then quickly turns and starts packing the snow with his skis to make a path over to the tree well where the snowboarder can be seen buried. Once closer, Zuber removes his skis, pulls himself up the snow mound, and starts digging with his hands. Zuber continued to clear snow from the snowboarder’s face before the trapped man was able to breathe. Zuber proceeded to assemble an emergency shovel and dig the snowboarder out completely.

“The mountains don’t care how much skill or experience you have. They don’t even care if you and your ski partners are doing everything right,” Zuber wrote online. He advised those hitting the slopes to take an avalanche training course to learn how to survive these types of situations. “I’m thankful I knew just enough to scrape by and perform a successful rescue,” Zuber said. “And always look out for each other out there.”

This is kinda fucked up. Apparently the person who won the auction for the goat was ok with not having the goat killed, then the fairground had an overreach of power because they wanted to teach the little kid a lesson and had the goat killed

Stealing a goat only works if you were Johnny Rodriguez. Stole a goat and BBQ'd it. Spent months in jail. Released and broke he worked at a wild west show. Tom T. Hall saw him and the rest is history.

Except your truncated version is even more bullshit. She was willing to reimburse the winner of the auction and the winner was fine with that, the fair and presumably the CFDA decided that her daughter needed to be taught a lesson and abused their authority to involve the county sheriffs office in a civil dispute, and the goat was seized without a warrant and outside of their jurisdiction.

she ultimately stole the goat, b/c she couldn't change the terms of the deal, b/c her kid was being a cunt and she didn't know how to say "no"

everyone of those goats were leased by other families from the farm, to raise and then to bring to the auction, that was the deal, it's to teach kids about husbandry.
