You thinking of DC?
Maybe? No idea. I have to look up half of this shit. Only time I was reading any comics as they came out was like mid-90's-ish. Onslaught era Xmen, just past Knightfall era Batman.

I was just looking through the wiki for Nova Corps because I was curious why Sutekh was upset over their portrayal in GotG and noticed one of them was called "Captain Mar-Vell". (Plus wasn't Jean Grey originally called "Marvel Girl"? And isnt' there a Ms. Marvel?) Granted, I find DC names to be even worse -as in an industrial dryer full of autistic kids set on tumble dry hooked up to a mic could probably come up with better names than DC has- but seriously, "Captain Mar-Vell"? If DC ripped that off would it be "Colonel Detective-Comiks"?

You obviously didn't read the multiple dissertations on the different Captain Marvel's that were in one of these threads (might have been the Batman vs. Superman one, or even the Comic Book thread), where it was explained why some of that shit is a little hokey.

Btw, the Captain Mar-Vell version was awesome, and the very first Marvel graphic novel ever deals with his death from cancer. Aside from that, having Jean Grey called Marvel Girl 40+ years ago and then a Ms. Marvel for the past few decades really isn't that much, considering how obvious "Marvel" is for a superhero name.

Looks like Phase 3 is 5 movies also. At least as of right now. Ant-Man ('15), Captain America 3 ('16), Doctor Strange ('16), Guardians of the Galaxy 2 ('17), Then I guess Avengers 3 (??).
EDIT: Ok, added in movie dates. And awesome, looks like they announced Guardians 2 for July 28th, '17.
Just to make your post easier to read and add a few more movies.

Ant-Man July 17, 2015
Captain America 3 May 6, 2016
Doctor Strange July 8, 2016
(Unknown) May 5, 2017 (Possibly Thor 3?)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 July 28, 2017
(Unknown) November 3, 2017
(Unknown) May 4, 2018
(Unknown) July 6, 2018
(Unknown) November 2, 2018
(Unknown) May 3, 2019

Anyone's guess is as good as others right now. Avengers 3 is obvious, there has to be another non-Earthly related movie to tie in Thanos other than just GotG/Thor. Inhumans/Captain MarVell/Nova would seem like the best choices. Everywhere seems to think Black Panther is going to happen.. and it might, I just don't know if its truly needed for this story. Though that might be my butthurt side if we get a Black Panther movie over a Nova.

I'm assuming Miss Marvel is one of the movies as well. There were stirrings about it being made a couple years ago.

Does anyone know if there is a set time/number of phases they are shooting for?

It was mentioned above that the technology is at a point where we can have live action comics (which I agree), but a big difference between movies and the comics... is that the actors continue to age. Is RDJ still going to be doing Ironman in 5 years? In 10 years in phase 8+? I'm just curious where they will take the characters when the actual people playing them call it quits.

Or it all ends before then and they reboot it. Just something I was pondering....

First Iron Man, that launched the MCU, was 2008. RDJ was 43 at the time.

3rd Iron Man was in 2013. RDJ was 48.

They could easily squeeze another 10 years out of him as Tony Stark without ever addressing his age. Or they could make it a story line if they wanted.

I also don't get all the hype around Adam Warlock. I never read the comics but what is so good about a superhero that is so powerful that he essentially becomes a God?Does he have any faultsor ishe just an all powerful boy scout?
Actually once he possesses the power of the gauntlet he tries to wield it fairly by purging himself of his good/bad thoughts/sides/whatever. The result led to the Infinity War storyline - everyone vs the dark side of Warlock manifested into a being called Magus, and then the Infinity Crusade which was this hyper-religious/cult-like/hero-brainwashing good side of Warlock.

Adam Warlock major fault is that he's always been somewhat mentally unstable.

He's not emotionally balanced either, he tends to be extremely doubtful, wallowing in self-pity, or self-centered and overconfident.

In either case, it has lead him to make extremely bad decisions which have ended causing deaths of his friends, or end up being the cause of most of the cosmic crisis he ends up having to save the universe from.

He's a complex character, different from pretty much anything else out there.

Isn't there still a decent amount of buzz that one of the unknown movies might be Black Widow? Simply because they need a chick hero, and she's already established?

It fits with something I read about the Marvel Comic Movies. Basically they use their various heroes to leverage different genres of movies while maintaining an overarching franchise. You've got your typical action: Iron Man, Avengers. You've got your war movie: Captain America. You've got your spy thriller: Captain America 2. You've got your sci-fi film: Guardians of the Galaxy. And you've got your porno: Black Widow.

Hey, a man can dream.

Everyone is so hyped because if it wasn't for Adam Warlock, Thanos would have succeeded both times in his quest to wipe out the universe for his lover, Death. He turns Thanos to stone the first time he brought the Infinity Gems together in Marvel Two-In one Annual #2 and then he is the one who defeats Thanos and Nebula in the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series and takes the gauntlet.

Yes they own the rights, and yes he was in the movie.

And in the reboot, there is talk of him being a chick I think?

Thorette is Marvel (comics only), Vicky Von Doom is Fox (movies only). And also apparently false after a little Googling, but I could swear that someone said it before.
