Nothing that is posted on random MMO boards gets looked at, but for the project's home forums/discord? That may or may not get looked at.You know, for the past couple decades, there have been people on every single MMORPG's forums arguing about how the game should be designed and changed. People are always super hyper focused on making sure their vision of the game gets used by the devs... so much so that it always turns in to personal attacks against anyone that doesn't agree with them.
At the end of the day, every single one of the MMORPGs made in the past two decades have had SOME people that LIKE it and SOME people that HATE it. Not one single one has ever made everyone happy. Not a single one.
What if... hear me out here... What if what you and I say on forums has absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of any MMORPG ever made? I mean, history would tend to lean to that being the case.
So... how about we just say what we like and dislike, and leave it up to the devs to deliver the game they're going to deliver no matter what we say or thing because in the end, that's what is going to happen anyway. Why spend the time being such duchebags to one another over a GAME?
If you like MnM, great.
If you don't like MnM, maybe the next game will be to your liking.
It's not like there isn't hundreds of these games coming and going on the market all the time. You don't have to go in to every single new MMORPG development with the mindset of "THIS is the one I will convince the developers to make in MY vision!!!"
Just saying...

Honestly I don't hate this entirely if it was tweaked a bit. Make COTH a consumable instead that isn't cheap, or at least price scales with level or something. Would be a good plat sink. Need a way to make that cross zone summon not completely trivialize travel and ports though if you were to go this route. I'd probably drop #3 but keep 1 and 2 with the consumable angle over int casters. Not sure its a good idea, but would help that particular problem. My 3 step plan to solve group formation friction:
1. give all classes the ability to gate (hearthstones)
2. give all int casters Call of the Hero
3. make COTH work across zone-lines, but cost an enormous amount of mana
Done. Rain your negs upon me.

Not only should you expand COTH to a few classes, but then I'd like to see a few other classes get an ability to summon themselves TO a group. My 3 step plan to solve group formation friction:
1. give all classes the ability to gate (hearthstones - 8h cooldown)
2. give more classes Call of the Hero (wiz & spellblade? No major utility class)

A suggestion is better than their older posts but I absolutely love that in their minds the solution to save the game from failing is to add a spell from classic EverQuest to all classes and an item from classic wow. As if that would ever be the make or break for a game to succeed. lol what is going on here.Honestly I don't hate this entirely if it was tweaked a bit. So, COTH would pull somebody to you, this new spell/ability would pull yourself to somebody else. You could do it in a way where some caster classes get COTH and some martial classes get this new ability - just tie it to a long cooldown. Maybe an hour+ or so.
Yup. Nobody is asking MnM to reinvent the wheel here, just to sand off the sharpest, most self-sabotaging edges so the "old-school MMO" experience actually survives contact with a 2025 playerbase.Ya for me a couple small changes like this to group formation dynamics, and some raid zone instancing, and the game is a near perfect 'old school' MMO experience with just a couple modern era QOL additions. They already have a LFG tool, but I'd consider a basic Auction/bazaar tool as well. I'm surprised no EC tunnel equivalent has really popped up yet. Makes me wonder if it ever will. Might be because they have some plans for trade stalls which are in cities and people are holding out? I’m not connected enough to know how these will work - if they’re like offline traders or what. Hopefully it’s offline.
I'd also ask for a global chat if that doesn't exist already - haven't logged in for months.

Dudes jacking off at his desk right now thinking of negs.
OG WoW Warlock Ritual of Summoning is one of the best MMO abilities ever designed. If a new MMO steals any one thing it should steal that. A social game has a class ability that helps you play together with other people because groups are a driving factor of the game.
Not game breaking, not immersion breaking (actually the opposite).
I don't see an issue with any of that. Would be nice.My 3 step plan to solve group formation friction:

I think that a necromancer and/or shadowknight being able to call TO the group. It could be based off of masking themselves with the darkness of death and floating to their group as a mist or something to make it thematically match the class. Not only should you expand COTH to a few classes, but then I'd like to see a few other classes get an ability to summon themselves TO a group.
