Cazic-Thule is a good example of if there is good loot people will come. Once they took out Rubicite, the place became a ghost town overnight.
So loot everywhere, rare spawns all share from same pool of level appropriate loot. Put rare spawns near all exp camps, make place holders a mix of obvious and down right impossible to figure out. Can’t lock down
shit if killing is only thing that matters.

I'd argue that's an approach, it wouldn't need to be applied unilaterally to the entire game or all zones or level ranges.

I dont expect this game to have thousands of players per server. 400-500 online simultaneous is what we have now in beta and seems reasonable for release as well. So when I say it’s not crowded, I’m basing it on that. Sure if you think they’re going to have 5k people per server then shit will get crowded. But that’s not going to happen. It could easily support 2k on a server anyways as they haven’t yet’ added a lot of the content they are adding at EA release .

People remember stuff like Guk fondly but seem to forget how much dead space eq had. And by that I mean entire zones just rotting. That’s not the case here, and if it is then people will capitalize on it before others figure it out and the population shifts.

I’d be open to this they did that on a TLP and IIRC it was super popular, not sure you could convince the devs here to do it

What the fuck are you even talking about? We’re taking about specific progression-critical targets like key access or quest mobs. Nobody cares how many spots to xp there are.

You're crying about theoretical quest mobs in a video game that don't exist and comparing those theoretical quest mobs, to quest mobs in a 25 year old game that was similar, than using that as "reason" for why this will create a problem that kills a game that just left Alpha.

You then claim the only solution to this theoretical problem is some form of instancing. You do this despite the fact that 25 year old game has solved many of those quest bottlenecks without using some for of instance example Marl Kastane or shorter spawn timers like the epic 2.0s have.

Mischief was fun, but I would argue if it wasn't my 45th time playing EQ it would have turned me off.

The people were/are what make it fun. FV loot rules make or break a TLP now, because people realize how fucking ass nodrop really is and don't want to deal with that shit.

lets be real, the only way an mmo is fun (like we remember in 2000 with eq) is if shit is gated behind knowledge and degens make their mark. (if im doing good in the game im doing good irl amirite)

however, none of us are at that point in our lives anymore and thats why this thread is upset

fwiw yea i agree with raid instancing and dynamic spawn times (adjusted faster) and loot drops (adjusted rarer) based on zone population.

retards talking about just add 10 more zones is just 10 more places that'll be empty, because WHATEVER camp is that hot item(s) is the one we're talking about

Exploring the beta has been great fun, there have been many times where me and my friends have gone to zones with no map , not even on the wiki, found names with no entry on the wiki and found drops with no entry on the wiki, the sence of exploration is fantastic, I'm sure even it will all be solved but so far the community doesn't seem to be in a rush to map everything out , at least publicly, and just enjoying the ride is fantastic

In the note of changes from beta, I think was unlisted but might stoke the fire on either side of the arguments.. you can find discussions in enchanter prof channel and I think somewhere else in discord with dev response.. It was something I came to the natural conclusion of and "abused" for a short period as I was "testing"// farming for.

The green drakelings in EWS was a prime location to farm magical items for enchanting powder via quested gear.. the drakeling boots and cloak(wing/scale/hide) mats drop rates are seemingly broken with the duct which you need 2 of to get the other pieces.. It's like a 4:1 or 6:1 drop ratio. Beetles at NH were KoS for awhile.. but they locked it from being DE'd because it was a bit plentiful and being massively camped.. now they're up more regularly.. and less people out of xp range killing them.. though the beetle armor is kinda ass and copper gear is a bit more abundant..

Whether or not the argument is how competent the devs are at applying, it is seemingly that they're making efforts to keep their ear to the ground from what i've seen and have talked to. As far as NH goes, the lotto beta is needed.. NH is borderline unplayable with 200~ something people in the zone.. yet EWS loot is crazy broken but the prices of supply/demand reflect it; so you gotta run to NH to make good money.

As far as the rush, I see no point.. just find holes in the market and fill it. While it might be missed in this thread, but it reminds me of tarkov in the sense you could farm ledex's and gpu's(big dollar single items but low %drop) all day.. but often time you make more $/hr by collecting bolts and all the nonsense shit. And they do a decent job at that with this game, so far.. with a sorta weakties mechanic.. i'm selling bonechips for 3-5s a stack to the high end blacksmiths/weaponsmith regularly(steel(t4) requires flux which alchemist make with bonechips and limestone which is like t1 and t2 stuff).. churning tatter which people leave because it takes up space in groups.. into raw materials and premium selling bags/backpacks because i don't need the cash but people need the bags.

The devs asked the Alpha people not to "spoil" drops, quest, and zones; so the wiki has been bare bones and/or out of date for at least the last year. The majority of the people I seemed to talk to on the open public tests, that were doing higher level stuff, sounded like they were also in the alpha.

They will probably need to do an itemization pass for at least the 40+ stuff, especially after they changed the amount of crafting tiers (less than 6 months ago); which would lend to loot tables going out of date fast too. The higher level you get, the more incomplete things are, as the early-mid-late game should get prioritized in that order.
