Tax payer getting shot in their own driveway. Killer likely cased the house. Killer shot four times and handed a note to victim.

The note may have been some “evidence” of wrongdoing. Like a look I know what you did and that’s why I’m going to do this.

Three shots at point blank when you’re amped up on adrenaline wouldn’t be out of the ordinary. The fourth was meant to kill since the victim was still alive.

I’m kind of leaning to it being personal. The killer gets in the truck and nearly drives over the curb on the opposite side of the street.

I mean, I'm trying to have an open mind here. That's hard to believe, based on what I know of the husband and wife. But I don't discount it only because I believe 100% of everything needs to be laid out and on the table. Justice is the important part here.

With that said, that horse has been beaten a lot. I'll keep everyone posted on anything new, and if anyone sees anything or has any ideas my PM box is open or you can post it here, either way.

Thanks.

One thing I have learned from a lifetime of hiring convicts, you NEVER EVER know what is actually inside the minds of people. For all you know your wife has been plotting to chop of your dick in your sleep for 5 yrs because of the one time you left the toilet seat up and she fell in at night. Just look at what some folks jerk off to, the fucked up things that drive people are never written on their forehead.

I guess. I mean, if the contents would point to somehow the husband being able to figure out who it was, then maybe I would. Then again, that's probably why I'm not a detective. :)

You gotta know, and he's got to know, he's a suspect.

So if he did it, you don't want to tell him what's on the paper. All that can do is give him time to run. If he didn't do it then telling him what's on the paper is making a horrible day so much worse.

Yeah, totally fair. I'd definitely not cut it as a detective.

I'm sorry but it's very likely that your friend's wife and/or your friend were into something shady. Suburban housewives don't get randomly assassinated and this was a hit. The fact that the killer drove up that early in the morning so soon after the husband left for work strongly suggests prior knowledge of the husband's work schedule.

If the cops aren't already investigating your friend, they should be. Not accusing him of involvement in his wife's murder, but aside from the obvious angle of trying to find the truck there really isn't anything else to pursue but the theory that the killer knows the husband/his work schedule.

Gavin echoes my initial thoughts.

The husband, at the Star Wars lightsaber ceremony.... that's a bit of crocodile tears being displayed on his part. At least, that's what I see on my end.

Organized hysteria like we see tingles my spidey sense. Maybe I'm all wrong about everything, man, so don't listen to me, but the likelihood that this was some random act of psychotic sadism is not very high in my opinion.

tl:dr after reading and watching every link you posted in your OP.....That trigger-person knew the victim somehow.

I hope you find justice in any case.

Or it's just a blank piece of paper.

Right, sounds to me like the paper was intended to be nothing but a distraction. Could have had nonsense on it like "Your child was tardy to school on MM/DD." Anything to get her to look down just long enough...

It's like that time we had a guy lose a brother in law in florida.

So many possible zingers, absolutely none of them appropriate.

When we stop cracking wise for a minute, that's how you can tell we care.

As soon as I finished reading the OP I typed up 'tits or gtfo', then sat there staring at it for a minute or two but couldn't bring myself to hit 'post reply' so I deleted it and typed something else.

The reason for the garage sale to pay for an anniversary trip seems a bit odd to me. That would hardly cover plane tickets somewhere and is way too last minute desperation time wise. Now if it was just a few weeks to the Disneyland StarWars grand opening later this year and they still didn't have the money and no credit cards to max out I would understand the desperation of having a yard sale would make sense for this couple and their obsession with Star Wars.

Trying to judge a relation from the outside is near impossible but from what they post on FB it does look like they had the Star Wars connection going for them.

I'd lean more towards some bad money troubles and the garage sale was to try to meet some demands.

The note sounds important. The fact that the husband doesn't know the content doesn't mean much at this point for various reasons:

It could be the note just said "I'm sorry" and this lady was randomly chosen for a gang slaying. - No husband needed
It could read something akin to a name of a person. - No husband needed
It could have just been a note to make her extend her hand and look down. - No husband needed

It could have been a name of a familiar person to her or her husband. In which case police will follow up and if they have additional questions they will ask the husband, if they must.

---

Main thing is though, domestics get VERY bad VERY quick. While their marriage could have looked fine from the outside, only time will tell if it was fine.

Had a court case at my work a while back where a husband and wife were going through custody of their divorce. Husband won, wife went out to her car after the session and grabbed a gun, walked back up to the court where her husband and their lawyer were talking, killed the husband and then herself.

Domestics are never routine, never logical...this lady just orphaned her 2 kids because she couldn't handle the outcome.

This could be a similar situation. Sure the routine-ness of the shooting does make it chilling but when people have decided what they want to do...shit happens pretty fucking fast.

I would have laughed and offered some FoH tits if you solve the murder.

Really. I'd find a fucking way. I'd buy an expensive quality stock escort just to give us some solid FoH tits. In fact, I will if one of you solves this shit.

They did this every year for their anniversary. I don't know the details though but I believe they did a yearly garage sale. One of the news articles mentions one of the neighbors saying that she had helped Liz in the year prior.

I coulda sworn i heard them say it was for "extra money" and not "all the money we'll ever need for this trip"

she had the day off, which is also weird, did she just happen to have a work day off? or did she request a day off in advance b/c she was going to have a garage sale that apparently is really horrible terribly marketed to the extent of, why have this shitty garage sale that NO ONE knows you're gonna have? (cuz normal ppl put up garage sale signs a week in advance), OR they have the garage sale on a weekend, this sale was on a friday.
