no, they had anime on Telemundo (ch 41 and 47) and also WWF wrestling. they had a shitload of american programming on there, the commercials were in spanish and they had spanish subtitles, but they even had alternative WWF matches just for Telemundo. but it was all in english. G Force and Shogun Warriors was my jam for anime.
yea i never went above channel 13 and for those that don't know ny programming it's 2cbs/4nbc/5fox/7abc/9upn? (they changed a lot) 11wpix? wtf was this and 13 was pbs
damn, dude, you missed a lot of good 80s programming. there was channel 31 which had other PBS stuff they didnt show on 13. thats where i watched Zoom. there was channel 50 which had the Uncle Floyd Show. then there was WHT which was a weird kind of broadcast cable channel, which showed normal movies in the daytime and softcore porn at night, it was scrambled if you didnt have the cable box, but you could see stuff on it when the screen would unscramble. in the mid 80s WHT went away and it became U68. a music video channel. at night it had Metal Mania which had all the metal videos that never made it to MTV.

White version Asian is actually often fairly difficult in art. skin tones are the same. largest feature variance gets blown apart by cartooning. Eyes, etc. you have to go SUPER RACIST to make it noticable. the brown-black hair thing, of course is not super visually interesting either. so, anime just gives everyone more interesting hair colors.
In my corner of Texas in the 70's there was no UHF channels, either. We had the big 3 ABC/NBC/CBS and occasionally we would get PBS from Houston (and Lake Charles NBC/CBS/ABC but that was the *exact* same thing as Beaumont/Port Arthur). They did air Battle of the Planets, though at 5:30AM/6:00AM at one point so I trundled my ass up to watch it, pre-VCR, for 12 or so episodes. So amazing for the time. Nothing else like it, Barring Johnny Quest/Space Ghost, which also aired at weird times occasionlly, IIRC. SuperFriends was a Saturday morning staple but nothing seemed to have that long of a shelf life. If it lasted two or three years, it was forever in TV time back then. Now everything makes money and even the bad shows have 3 seasons. Unless you are on Netflix. <gank>

its better in some regards than the first version of SS, this movie is the Harley show. if you like watching her in less sexy clothes than the last movie and now she's an immortal for some reason for 2hours, check it out
