Toilet paper square definitely doesn't help. I feel using real fragrance test strips or a medium-ply piece of paper does make a difference. I have absolutely no scientific backing but anything with somewhat high absorption rate like toilet paper I feel would really kill a scent.

Seems I have the same issue, every thin g that drops for me seems to be for wolf/bear when I am using the storm/companion leveling build. The positive thing is I did get a perfect 200% Shockwave Pulverize weapon that I believe I can extract to use later.
