A local bottle shop has a good variety of De Molens, picked a few up. I didn't really care for the Cease and Desist, but loved the Heaven and Hell. Also have a Spanning en Sensatie waiting for a rainy day - excited to see just how chocolate and pepper laden it is. Heaven & Hell | Brouwerij De...

I went to the Victory at Sea Day event at Ballast Point on Sunday - I'll definitely be going back in years to come, and I'm kicking myself for missing it years past when I actually lived in San Diego. Thirty bucks got us a goblet that was supposed to house 5 pours at 4 oz each but they were more...

Dinosmores? Putting *that* on my Midwest wish list. Szeth - I'll keep an eye out. A few of the bottle shops here in So Cal that I frequent get some distro on Russian River, but it's really hit and miss.

Nice - I really should get more into the wine given how often I'm in the central coast. So far my favorites are Donatoni and Chronic Cellars, but I've still got a lot of exploring to do. I keep meaning to get to Libertine's. One of my buddies in Atascadero always shares a bottle or two of...

Yeah, for how relatively new they are they make some great stuff. Their Curly Wolf maple stout is probably my fav of what they make, though I also like their berry saison. I was sad I didn't get time to swing in to Bristol Cider House while up for turkey day. Not sure if you've been, but I...

Went to London recently and brought back a few bottles. Seems they've upped their craft beer game in the last few years when I was there last. Being mostly a stout guy, I was sad to see this time of year is apparently IPA and Pale time there from my limited experience (I was there for a wedding...

    Best place to live

I'd say pretty similar, with SLO having slightly more rain and slightly cooler winters from my experience. Much like SD, don't venture *too* far east in the later summer/early fall months though if you can avoid it because it can get really hot, really fast.

    Best place to live

It's been a couple years since I've lived in SD, but the few recent times I've been to visit it seems like the North County area's been pretty shitty traffic wise for some reason? Even when there wasn't something going on at Del Mar. I'm with you though on the transit point - as long as you...

    Best place to live

I lived in San Diego for the better part of 14 years. Aside from the affordability point, it should meet your criteria pretty well. If you do end up there, resist the temptation to live in the east county areas - you'll end up with the hot ass summers you're trying to avoid. There's still some...

This has been going around a bit. Who knows if it's even 5% credible, but if it's legit I wouldn't terribly upset aside from more Trolls again. Epicstream

With all the wineries, Firestone, and not much else to do in the area, it's almost required to be un-sober when in that part of the central coast. If you ever find yourself going back that way for any of the Firestone releases, let me know - I usually drive up for about half of 'em.

My in-law's live in Atascadero, between SLO and Paso Robles. We end up at Firestone quite a lot (usually Barrelworks too since that's on our way) - Libertine's is usually on the short list as well, great beers. Other non-wine drinking options I might recommend if you visit the area again is...

    Disneyland

It's been a while since I've priced out the hotels at Disneyland, but that doesn't seem *too* bad of a deal. Your guesstimate on pricing for the whole trip probably isn't far off, either (depending on any swag you might pick up). If you're set on going in December, from my past experience...

Bigfoot's pretty good, yea - 2013 is delicious, it needs that year to tone down some of the hops for me personally. For my money I prefer Sucaba (Firestone Walker) as the top of my Barleywine list, but there's very few I won't try. Old Scallywag (Coronado Brewing Co) is also really good if you...

Love stouts (and porters). Sam Smith's is good, drank a lot of that the last time I was in London. My personal 'go to' dark stuff is usually Mission Brewery's Dark Seas, Green Flash's Double Stout and Victory at Sea, Great Divide's Yeti variants, Sierra Nevada's Narwhal and Oskar Blues' Ten...

    Constantine

Sorry, I should have clarified - the actor playing Constantine I think is fairly spot on and I can see him growing into the role. It was mostly the other actors and actresses that rubbed me the wrong way, enough that I almost left the screening. I am willing to give it a chance as well though, I...

    Constantine

I saw the pilot at Comic Con this summer. Can't say I was overly impressed - it seemed really rushed and horribly overacted in places. I'm willing to give it a few episodes to see if it finds its footing though, I think they did a pretty good job capturing the spirit of Constantine.

^This. I recently had Ten Fidy for the first time, and this afternoon I had Smog City Coffee Porter. Both excellent beers if you're into dark/bitter/roasty and haven't had either. Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I'd be surprised if there ends up being PvP at all at this point. If they do end up including it, it will be either an afterthought or likely left to wither post-launch. It was Disciple's Inner Light. Each Disciple that had it was hitting the server an obscene amount of times per second dragging everything down. Yet again one of those issues where something probably looked great on Dev and Test, but got beyond borked going to Live servers.

I can't speak for the rest, but for myself it wasn't about the money drying up - it was the manner in which it dried up that caused me to walk away. San Diego is definitely making some good stuff, IPA's for sure. I think a lot of their success is owed to how much of a community they've built up there - so many of the breweries collaborate or share grains, hops, supplies, etc and just generally work at sharing their passion for making beer...
