I was kinda hoping you’d leave the Ottomans alone so you had one final boss to fight. Ah well RIP kebabs

    Europa Universalis IV

I think I’ve heard players call that the informal “Color cb”. You gotta be the only one
  3. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

Never been a fan of that Italy green. S-Ps color is fantastic

I think you’d likely want to switch to Sardinia when you’re done with Saluzzo missions? Could keep the old idea set

    Europa Universalis IV

Try a relaxing tall game with some colonies? Riga seems kinda cool with being basically an OPM. Me I’ve been playing Florence in a co-op game as tall - mostly playing in just Italy and developing land a bunch
  7. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

Yeah I remember years ago doing a WC with France - my favorite part was getting Napoleon. He’s so good and fun for the short time you have left before game end

    Europa Universalis IV

Good stuff. Culture shifting is higher level mastery of eu4 IMO. My next game I wanna do a tall Italy. Start as Venice, go Croatia -> Sardinia piedmont -> Tuscany -> Italy. Then late game form Rome. You can do all of this with just northern Italy (until you form Italy itself) so you can play...

You can trade company in any region that isn’t a home region. You don’t want to trade company every province - just those with great trade power so you can get 50% trade power in a node. At 50+ trade power in a node you get an extra merchant.

    Europa Universalis IV

Throw in some show superiority wars each time you can for that sweet +300 mana. Farming 900 mana every 15 years from your rivals sounds like great dev boosting.
  11. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

Very good pace so far! For reference, this was where I was at in my game that I finished a WC by like 1720, then one Faith around 1750: I think you can get WC/1Faith since you're 400 dev ahead of me just 20 years later. 1 Culture is so tough / tedious - you have to diplo bank until you can...

https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Policies Economic + Divine = 5% CCR and -5 years of Separatism (big). Economic + Horde = 33% more raze power, so basically free mana. Trade + Divine is decent at least, with 15% improve relations and 15% production; however Trade + Horde is trash I'd say get...
  13. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

Nice congrats! Economic + Horde policy gives +33% raze power, which seems so strong. With enough CCR / admin efficiency you can conquer land and get back more admin mana than it costs to core.

I did a playthrough with Ethiopia about a year ago - theyve got a great starting position and a deep mission tree

    Europa Universalis IV

So just started the Eat Your Greens achievement - you have to start as a 2PM (Kale) and own every grassland in Asia by like ~1610. The strategy I've watched is you take all of Ava, which allows you to form Shan. Then you try to take all of Tibet to culture switch and become a Horde. Then you...

    Europa Universalis IV

Yeah. Core cost scales on dev of the province. Razing removes dev to give you mana. Also, razing allows you to take more than 100% Overextension at a time - because after you raze, your OE goes down by like 10-30%. Say you take 120% in 1 war, after razing the land, it goes down to like 90%...

    Europa Universalis IV

Oh one thing that was asked earlier - sure you could remove the reformation center if you want, however, you could allow Heretic Religions to flourish - after all they are raze-able later. I burned all of Great Britain to the ground after I became a horde
  19. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

AFAIK no diplo softcap - I put that thing up to 70 total dev by end game just by excess raze mana. Yes, 0 autonomy - expand the infrastructure (that little green + button in the province window) when its available; I think its like 15, 30, 45 dev points, or something like that. For...

    Europa Universalis IV

Yeah for that mission you really have to not give out any privileges with crown land and keep seizing land (I think it’s like 2 or 3 times so like 15 years) and once that missions is finished, then give out privileges that take crown land. It’s kinda annoying and I’ve seen many casters/pros...

    Europa Universalis IV

If you have a non cored province that isn’t catholic, it’s a button in the top right of the province window. You don’t need a unit. There isn’t a good map mode for this so I use diplomatic (it shows you all non cores and all provinces that you’re coring) and you’ll have to manually select each...

I allied Hungary early game to use them vs Poland and I think you can use them to help vs Muscovy. All game I had the Pope and Austria as allies. You can also maybe use Sweden vs Muscovy Once you get past the Muscovy hump, you’re close to snowballing

    Europa Universalis IV

I mostly just watched these 2 youtube videos - and Also followed Furry's progress/playthrough posted on here. At a high level, before Absolutism, you should try to capture 3 gold mines (Bohemia, Hungary, Serbia) as well as capture Dalaskogen. Try to mostly use vassal feeding to grab...
  24. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

Yeah man, if you grab Falun Copper Mine early from Sweden, just dump all of your production mana you overflow from razing all heretics/heathens in the world. That wonder is basically a gold mine that can't break, gives no inflation, and scales better with more mana

    Europa Universalis IV

Finished my TO campaign last week. Playing as a horde nation is fun, playing as a German horde nation is even more fun. The mission tree was enjoyable and being able to just raze land all over the place was so good. Anyway, decided to concentrate on this game to get One Faith, since it seemed...

    Europa Universalis IV

Also, slight tangent about developing great manpower provinces - one of the best things to look for is a province that has an inland center of trade, that is in a state with 4-5 provinces, where each province has grain or livestock for trade goods. A level 3 inland center of trade gives local...

How do you build your armies? One thing that I've been more deliberate about is having stacks that are simply for field combat, while other stacks only siege. Based on mil tech/fort level in the game, I try to build siege stacks with small amounts of infantry and max cannons (enough to get the...

    Europa Universalis IV

Yeah, all of the feedback I've seen has been very positive so far. The previous France update was super minor wasn't it? All of the countries getting updates really haven't been touched since missions were implemented years ago
  29. Z

    Europa Universalis IV

So dev diaries for next patch have been coming out. So far the Ottomans, Muscovite/Russia, Japan, and France are getting major updates similar to what they did in Lions of the North. Really cool changes announced so far - I'll probably play a Japan game finally

Man as a Bucs fan, we're so fucked. This roster is going to look like dogshit after this offseason - wouldn't be surprised if we finish last in the NFC South

    Europa Universalis IV

TO is definitely a fun game. I've got Transylvania, Byzantium, Sweden, Novgorod, Perm, and Great Horde as vassals. Just finished my war with Ottomans to get Constantinople and pop out Byz - it took me, Austria, the Pope, and the Mamluks (I somehow was able to ally them) to win that first war...

That sucks - feels like the Jags had momentum there

    Europa Universalis IV

Florence is pretty awesome if you wanna try a tall game - you just slowly build up to form Italy, but mostly get all of your provinces to 40 dev. Your wars will mostly be to help your allies, and to weaken rivals/future enemies like the Ottomans. Alternatively you use your troops as Codiettieri...

    Europa Universalis IV

Giving Holy Horde a try finally. I started out taking the first 5 years (whatever that truce time was with Poland) to seize land (to finish that mission), diplo-vassalize Livonian order, secure alliances with Hungary, Austria, Brandenburg, and the Papal State, to get ready for the first Poland...
